Nigeria booked a place in the semi-finals of the 2023 AFCON for the first time since 2013 after beating South Africa on penalties at the Stade Bouake.
After a slow start, the Eagles got into the lead via a Moses Truust-Ekong penalty awarded after Victor Osimehn was fouled in the box. The game metamorphosed into a fiesty encounter with both sides creating begging chances that ended in futility.
