JOYFUL REDS WIN EFL CUP

Posted by Kwame Michael Liverpool beat Chelsea 11-10 on penalties to clinch their ninth domestic trophy at the Wembley stadium in a pulsating encounter with lots of dramatic moments. Both clubs were outstanding throughout the game. Joel Matip saw his first half goal disallowed for an offside via VAR consultation. On the flip side, substitute Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz's second half extra time goals were also disallowed and flagged for offside. The game ended in a stalemate with both teams superbly converting their penalties until Kepa Arrizabalaga fired his kick over the bar to hand Liverpool the win. This marks Jurgen Klopp's 10th trophy as a manager, 21 years after starting his coaching career at Mainz FC. Video credit: @Liverpoolfc

Posted by Michael Danquah CHELSEA OWNER SET TO STEP DOWN Roman Abramovich   Reports from England suggest that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to relieve his position at the club. Ac cording to the London club media, the 55 yr old Ukrainian has decided to hand over the stewardship and care of the club to charitable organization. The Russian bought the London club in the summer of 2003, since when they have won several Premier League titles, multiple European trophies and - most recently - the Club World Cup. In a statement, he said , "I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. I remain committed to these values. That is why I am today giving trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC," Abramovich said in his statement.
