Rodrygo Goes celebrate winner

Real Madrid completed one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the UEFA champions league with an amazing 3-1 victory over Manchester City in the second leg semi-final fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 13 times winners who are hoping to clinch their 14th title qualified on a (6-5) aggregate following a dramatic 3-4 loss in the first leg in England to qualify for their 17th champions league final.

Having gone up early in the 73rd minute courtesy of a brilliant Riyad Mahrez goal, Manchester City threw away a precious lead to concede two late goals via substitute Rodrygo Goes and a penalty scored by Karim Benzema to crash out of the competition for a second successive time.

Karim Benzema is now tied on the same goals (10) scored in a single champions league knockout phase with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid will play Liverpool in the final which is staged at the Parc Des Princes in the beautiful city of Paris on May 28, 2022.

This will mark their ninth UCL final meeting with the 6-times English champions out of which they have won (4) lost (1) and drawn (3).

They have scored 10 times and conceded 8 of these meetings.

Upcoming Events: Europa cup semi-final 2nd leg fixtures.

The race for the UEFA Europa cup final also continues today with Eintracht Frankfurt hosting West Ham United at the Frankfurt stadium in Germany, with the German side running away with a precious 2-1 away win in the 1st leg encounter in London.

However, David Moyes side will be looking forward to overturn that deficit in what promises to be an epic game.

Elsewhere, Atalanta BC would battle another German contingent RB Leipzig in Italy after losing 0-2 in the 1st-leg fixture in Germany.
