Great expectations await Ghanaian football lovers when the Black Stars host their Angolan counterpart in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers at the Baba Yara Sports stadium Kumasi on 23rd March 2023.

Chris Hughton is scheduled for official unveiling on March 20 prior to the kick-off of the match.

A 25-man list released by the experienced gaffer has sparked a lot discussions and criticisms from Ghanaians who aired their views democratically. Some think it's a fair selection whilst others don't agree. 

One player whose impact will be felt on the pitch is Arsneal's midfield genius Thomas Partey - who is yet to lose a game with the club this season on-field.

Mohammed Kudus, and Joseph Paintsil are some of the faces expected to cause mayhem for the Palancas Negras of Angola 🇦🇴, who have released a strong lineup for the Stars .

With 20 goals to his credit for both club and country, Mo Kudus will absolutely be a joker card to rely on  alongside Paintsil - Genk's in-form attacker who has scored about 9 goals with 10 assists for the Belgians.

Chris Hughton will definitely bank on the form of these players to wreck havoc for the Angolans on his first official assignment as the Head coach of the Black Stars.

2023 AFCON: Triumphant Elephants win third AFCON Title on home soil

The West Africans picked up their third title since 2015 and became the first host nation to win the competition after Egypt in 2006. In a much anticipated final that saw the 60,000 capacity Alassane Ouattara stadium filled to the brim, both West African nations exhibited high-level football with the Ivoriens dominating the encounter on possession. The beauty of the AFCON cannot be matched when a resurgent Ivorien side that lost 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea in the group phase of the competition stepped up to redeem their image in a thrilling 4-5 penalty win over defending champions Senegal. Hamad Diallo got on the score sheet blasting home a thunderous shot four minutes into the encounter to give the Teranga Lions the lead.
