NEW: Thomas Tuchel on Ghana Radar

The Ghana Football Association GFA has shortlisted six candidates for the vacant Black Stars job following the resignation of Otto Addo after Ghana's exit from the world cup in Qatar.

Top of the list is a surprise package of former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund gaffer, Thomas Tuchel who according to Asempa FM, has held preliminary talks with the GFA

Thomas Tuchel 

The German tactician is currently in Germany and unattached to any club. His exploits with the Blues winning the UCL in 2021 amongst others plus his rich managerial coaching experience will be a great asset for the West Africans. 

Also on the list is former Portugal player and coach, Paulo Bento who recently stepped down as South Korea manager following their humiliating 4-1defeat to Brazil at the world cup.

Paulo Bento 
Bento, 53, is touted to be Otto Addos' successor having managed high profile clubs such as Cruzeiro, FC Porto and the Portugal national team. Until his resignation, he had had a good spell with the Asian Tigers; winning 35 games, 13 draws and 9 losses in 57 matches. 


Tom Saintfeit 

Others on the list include - Gambia Head coach Tom Saintfeit (up) who is closely monitored by the GFA for his impressive record with the Gambians inspite of his outstanding contract with the West Africans.

Chris Hughton 

Chris Hughton, a long-standing Favorite for the job is a household name in Ghana with his experience at club level and for the Black Stars. 

George Boateng 


George Boateng, former Aston Villa U-23 coach and one of the Assistant coaches to Otto Addo will also be considered for his commitment and tactical prowess.

Lastly, Serbian Gaffer, Dragan Stojkovic who was a former player and coach for Serbian side, Red Star Belgrade among other European clubs has been identified and shortlisted for the job. He is currently in charge of the Serbia national team.

Ghanasoccernet.com gathers that an announcement will be made soon by the GFA on the new man to lead the Black Stars as there are lined up international activities for the four-time African champions in 2023.
