FIFA Appoints Polish referee for W/Cup final.

Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will officiate the world cup final between Argentina and France on 18 December 2022 at the Lusail stadium, Qatar.

The 41-yr old Polish Football Association Referee handled crucial games at the mundial including Argentina 🆚 Australia Round of 16 encounter, and France's Group stage match against Denmark.

He is considered as one of the highly rated world referees who officiated the 2018 UEFA Super Cup final as well the UEFA U18 championships.

He will be assisted by fellow compatriots - Pavel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz as assistant referees.

The match commences exactly 5pm GMT.

2023 AFCON: Triumphant Elephants win third AFCON Title on home soil

By Michael Osei  2023 AFCON WINNERS  The Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire have won the 2023 AFCON after beating Nigeria in regulation time. The West Africans picked up their third title since 2015 and became the first host nation to win the competition after Egypt in 2006. In a much anticipated final that saw the 60,000 capacity Alassane Ouattara stadium filled to the brim, both West African nations exhibited high-level football with the Ivoriens dominating the encounter on possession. The Super Eagles got into the lead through a Moses Truust-Ekong header in the 38th minute which sent thrills throughout the stadium. The beauty of the AFCON cannot be matched when a resurgent Ivorien side that lost 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea in the group phase of the competition stepped up to redeem their image in a thrilling 4-5 penalty win over defending champions Senegal. Hamad Diallo got on the score sheet blasting home a thunderous shot four minutes into the encounter to give the Teranga Lions the lead.
