Reds sink Yellow Submarines in 5 goal thriller

By Michael Danquah

Sadio Mane equalled Frank Lampard's record for most goals scored for an English team in the UEFA champions league knockout stages (15 goals), following a spirited 2-3 comeback win for Liverpool over Villarreal.

The reigning Africa footballer of the year, Brazil midfield star Luis Fabinho, and Colombian star Luiz Diaz, spearheaded a deadly attack for Liverpool as they scored three quick second half goals in 12 minutes to edge out Villarreal on (5-2) aggregate to book their tenth final in the UEFA champions league history.

The Reds overturned a first half two nil deficit courtesy of Boulaye Dia and ex Arsneal player Francis Coquelin's early strike, to outsmart Unai Emery's side who were valiant throughout the encounter.

Watch highlights of Sadio Mane's lovely finish.

The action continues tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid as Real Madrid host Manchester City in the second leg semi final encounter following a 4-3 loss to the English champions at the Ethihad.
