Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the final takeover of the club by Todd Boehly in a plush deal worth £4.5bn today.
Following recent sanctions placed on Roman Abramovich by the UK government surrounding his alleged ties with Vladimir Putin on the Russia-Ukraine war, and a surprise sale of the club by Mr. Abramovich, Chelsea has been under bidding by fleet of international investors.
Reports from England reveals that the London Club has confirmed a purchase takeover of the club by American baseball club, LA Dodgers, co-owner and Clearlake Capital consortium representative Todd Boehly in a whooping £4.5bn ($5.2bn) deal.
The American business tycoon and his partners saw off a stiff rivalry to broker a takeover bid for the highest price ever paid for a sports club.
The deal includes promises of major investment, the £2.5bn spent on the club will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account and then spent on charitable causes as Roman's wish.
