European football action returned last  weekend with lots of great games as Bayern Munich won their 10th consecutive Bundesliga title in style.

The race for the top 4 in England took a sensational twist as Arsenal looks poised to book a champions league spot ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners who stole a 2-3 deserved win over Chelsea in the midweek, shocked  embattled Manchester United with a 3-1 emphatic victory at the Emirates, courtesy of Granite Xhaka's fine winner.


Manchester City maintained their position on top of the table after hammering Watford 5-1 at the Ethihad.

Meanwhile, Liverpool closed the gap by a point following a spirited 2-0 home win over Everton in an exciting Merseyside derby. Divock Origi once again proving his mettle with a late winner, after Robertson's 2nd half opener.


Chelsea were lucky to ran away with a narrow 1-0 win over in-form West Ham United at home courtesy of a late Christian Pulisic goal following Jorginho Luiz penalty miss.


Elsewhere, in Spain, Real Madrid were 3-1 away winners over Osasuna while Barcelona suffered a third consecutive defeat since 1998 to the hands of Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou, thanks to an Alvaro Garcia's solitary goal.

In Germany, Robert Lewandoski scored a brace as Bayern Munich won their 10th Bundesliga title with a cool 3-1 win over rivals Borussia Dortmund.

In France, Lionel Messi's solitary strike was enough to win the French Ligue for PSG following a 1-1 draw with Amiens. 

However, there are rife rumors suggesting the exit of coach, Mauricio Pochettino following the club's inability to qualify to the semis of the UEFA champions league with a surprise call for former Real Madrid gaffer, Zinedine Zidane or Tottenhham's manager Antonio Conte for the job.

Ghana goalkeeper, Richard Ofori scored the goal that fired South African giants Orlando Pirates into the semi final of the CAF champions league.
