Chukwueze the hero

Villarreal defied all odds to book a champions league semi-final spot after holding Bayern Munich to 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena, Germany, to qualify on a 2-1 aggregate score.

Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze scored the all important equaliser for the yellow submarines to sail through for the first time in many decades, whilst Robert Lewandoski grabbed the only goal for the Bavarians.

In Spain, Chelsea amazingly put up a spirited performance scoring three fantastic goals by Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger, and Timo Werner, but a resilient Real Madrid side bounced back to score two important goals in the second half to secure a semi-final berth.

Rodrygo Goes and Karim Benzema's 82nd champions league goal sealed the qualification for the Los blancos who edged past the current champions on 5-4 aggregate.

Highlights & Goals

Congratulations to the two Spanish teams @ Villarreal and Real Madrid.

The action continues today in tonight's thrillers between 6 times winners Liverpool and Benfica at the Anfield stadium, and Athletico Madrid against Manchester City at the Wanda Metropolitano, in Madrid.

Also, the Europa cup quarter final 2nd-leg ties will kick off on Thursday night when  Barcelona welcome Eintracht Frankfurt at the Camp Nou in another exciting encounter, while Atalanta lock horns with German heavyweights RB Leipzig at home in Italy.

That's all for now and stay tuned for more updates 🙏

Thanks for your support.
