Weekend European Football action review

Its another beautiful new week and we thank the universe for been gracious to us. 

Last weekend was pretty much a hell of surprises and prolific as goals rained mercilessly from the EPL to the La Liga, Seria A to Bundesliga, and a trip to the Parc Des Princes where magic Goals and big wins were recorded.

In England, Tottenhham Hotspur secured a crucial win to keep their champions league hopes alive after lashing Newcastle united 5-1 at home.

Goals by Ben Davies, Mathew Doherty, Son Heung-Min, Emerson Royal, and substitute, Steven Bergjwin confirmed a temporary 4th position for the London club on the table.

In the wake of another crucial champions league clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday night, Chelsea, after taking the lead via Antonio Rudiger's brilliant curler, suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to struggling Brentford.


Spirited efforts inspired by Danish attacker Christian Erikssen, who scored the eaualiser led to the a solid comeback by the newcomers.

A spotlight on the biggest game of the week in Italy saw Visitors Inter Milan stealing the show with a 1-0 victory over resurgent Juventus - thanks to a Calhanoglu's fine penalty kick.


Jose Mourinho's AS Roma continued their impressive form with a 1-0 win over Sampdoria, Henrikh Mkhitaryn's cool finish ended proceedings in Rome.

Elsewhere in Spain, Pedri Gonzalez scored a screamer to give Barcelona an emphatic 1-0 victory over Sevilla at the camp Nou. 


Since joining the blaugrana from Qatari champions Al-Sadd FC, former Club legend, Xavi Hernandez has shown great character in changing the misfortunes of the Spanish giants recently, leading them to back to back wins with most recent coming off a shocking 4-0 win over rivals and league leaders Real Madrid. 

Away from Spain, in France, PSG were ruthless as they hammered visiting Lorient 5-1 to extend a 12 point gap over 2nd placed Olympique Marseille.

Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappé scored a brace each with Leo Messi completing the rout.

Coming up later on the international front, Arsneal will be looking forward to regain 4th spot with a tough test against Crystal Palace away from home. The match commences at 19:00 GMT.

The UEFA Champions league quarter final 1 stage 1st-leg matches kicks off on Tuesday night with exciting games on board. 

Benfica vs Liverpool (7:00pm)

Man City vs Athletico Madrid (7:00pm)

On Wednesday

Villarreal will host Bayern Munich at home whilst defending champions Chelsea welcome Real Madrid at the Stamford bridge.
