The Ghana U-20 female football team Black Princesses have qualified for the FIFA U-20 women's world cup in Costa Rica following a 2-1 win over visitors Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

The Princesses sealed their spot on a 5-1 aggregate score line with in-form Salamatu Suleiman scoring a brace to qualify the team to their sixth consecutive finals.

The West Africans picked up their third title since 2015 and became the first host nation to win the competition after Egypt in 2006. In a much anticipated final that saw the 60,000 capacity Alassane Ouattara stadium filled to the brim, both West African nations exhibited high-level football with the Ivoriens dominating the encounter on possession. The Super Eagles got into the lead through a Moses Truust-Ekong header in the 38th minute which sent thrills throughout the stadium. By Michael Osei  Jubilant Elephants  Senegal got eliminated from the ongoing 2023 AFCON on penalties by a resilient Ivory Coast side after playing out an exciting 1-1 draw in full-time. The beauty of the AFCON cannot be matched when a resurgent Ivorien side that lost 4-0 to Equatorial Guinea in the group phase of the competition stepped up to redeem their image in a thrilling 4-5 penalty win over defending champions Senegal. Hamad Diallo got on the score sheet blasting home a thunderous shot four minutes into the encounter to give the Teranga Lions the lead.
