FIFA W/Cup qualifier update: Partey strike sends Ghana to Qatar

Ghana secured a fourth world cup berth and became the first African nation to qualify for the FIFA world cup in Qatar later this year after playing out a 1-1 draw against their the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.

A superb strike by Thomas Teye Partey in the 10th minute was all the west African giants needed to sail through in a tough and pulsating encounter. Nigeria consolation equaliser came 11 minutes later via a penalty scored by Moses Troost-Ekong.
The Black Stars booked their slot in Qatar on away goal rule after a goaless draw in Kumasi.
